Anyone can be an influencer because we all have one or two things that interest us and that we are passionate about. Someone likes you; someone follows you; when you dress a certain way, there is someone you don’t know who is watching you from afar and tries to dress, talk, and walk like you; there is someone whose decision is influenced by you.
Someone is being influenced by you.
On or off social media, you are an influencer.
If you are deliberately building a personal brand on social media for the purpose of influence, it is then safe to call you a social media influencer.
It is therefore critical that you commit yourself to intentionally developing your influence so that you don’t become a negative influence. Be intentional about the ideas, lifestyle, and thoughts that you put out there because someone somewhere is being influenced by them.
𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 is the power to have an important effect on someone or something. If someone influences someone else, they are changing a person or thing in a direct or indirect but important way.
𝐀𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 is someone who has established credibility in a specific industry or niche, who has access to a huge audience and can persuade others to act based on their recommendations.
Here are the first five steps:
Identify your area of interest—pick what you want to start influencing. i.e., fashion, traveling, faith, lifestyle, food, entrepreneurship, health/wellness, politics, entertainment, online business, marketing, relationship/marriage, sports, motivation/inspiration, parenting, etc.
Identify the suitable social media platform(s) to use.
Start creating valuable content around those areas consistently.
Build a relationship with and connect with your audience.
Keep researching your niche to stay relevant.
